Rotorua itself is only a 3 hour drive from Auckland and it's location is such that it's the ideal stopover point for travellers who wish to explore the Bay of Plenty on their travels.
Te Puke (NZ's Kiwi Fruit capital), Tauranga & Mount Maunganui (with it's many beaches), Tirau and the wonders of Lake Taupo are all within an hours easy drive from the city and the attractions in and around Rotoru itself are a reason to visit in their own right.
Rotorua is also well served by the Intercity Coach services, with drop-offs at the Information Centre in the City. A Taxi ride to the motel is approximately $5-$10 or it is a 10 min walk.
If you are travelling from Auckland or Hamilton, you'll be approaching the City along Fairy Springs Road. There will be a large light controlled junction, turn left here on to Lake road. Continue straight through the roundabout (150m after the lights), ensuring you are in the left hand lane. 150m after the roundabout, keep an eye out for our sign on the left hand side driving into town, we are located just before the bridge over the Utuhina Stream. Turn left onto Whittaker Road where you'll find the entrace to our on-site parking.
If you are driving from the South via the City, find your way to Lake Road where you'll pass Kuirau Park on your left - you can't miss it, it's geothermally very active! 100m past the park, you'll drive over the Utuhina Stream Bridge and there will be an immediate road off to the right (Whittaker Road). The entrance to our off-street parking is on this road.
